Engage for Change: Regional Conference on Community Engagement
May 16 – Tuesday, 8am to 3:30pm at Siena College.
Co-Sponsored by the College of Saint Rose
Organized by the Capital Region Community Engagement Council
Do you teach a course that connects with a local community organization, a government agency, a local business, or a middle/high school or addresses a social issue? 
You may wish to attend this upcoming local conference. Or come to hear your Saint Rose colleagues as well as faculty from local colleges.
Professor Cailin Brown is presenting “Student Journalism and Social Justice in the Neighborhood”
Professor Claudia Lingertat-Putnam is presenting “What’s in a Name? Using Service Learning to     Increase the Cultural Competency of Graduate Counseling Students”
I will present “Teaching Service-Learning Courses to First-Generation Students” and will facilitate a discussion on teaching courses that connect with our local refugee and immigrant communities.
Registration ($40) – includes breakfast and lunch.
