- To embrace the tradition of the humanities as the backbone of education and encourage all the skills traditionally associated with that work including writing, reading and critical thinking: digital without humanities is an empty pursuit
- To highlight the current efforts in the school of Arts & Humanities that employ digital technology
- To encourage further development of that work with new skills & pedagogical exploration
- To establish the centrality of the humanities for thriving in a fast-paced, technologically immersive 21st century life
- To gather and disseminate information on funding and development opportunities for both students and faculty
- To continually add competencies in the field despite the challenge of disappearing development funds
